My Favourites

Pressure Cooker Cookbooks:

The Rootitoot Cookbooks (Ruth “Rootitoot” McCusker) – These cookbooks have quickly become the first ones I grab. Both cookbooks are full of down to earth recipes that show you how to do the food we love in our machines. Ruth uses simple language and weaves stories throughout. If you must start with just one, I would recommend the first one but if at all possible, order both! These cookbooks are only available through online ordering. A Kindle version is also available. https://rootitoot.com/cookbook/

How to Instant Pot (Daniel Shumski) – Great starter book

The Essential Instant Pot Cookbook (Coco Morante) – Great section in the front full of technical information

Pampered Chef Quick Cooker Cooking Guide – Great charts, includes cooking from frozen. A Pampered Chef Consultant is your source for the Pampered Chef Quick Cooker Guide

Tools:

Flat Bottomed Scraper – Any flat bottomed wooden spoon or paddle will do. Flat bottom to easily scrape up the brown bits from the bottom of your pot. I prefer wooden because it doesn’t scratch up my pot. These are readily available in stores and online. Choose your favorite.

Fingertip Oven Mitts – I highly recommend these when working with a multi-function machine. You are able to hold your pot in place and keep it from spinning when you are scrapping up the brown bits from the bottom of the pot. They are also great to reach into your pot and grab the small handles of accessories like steamer baskets and trivets. There are many variations of these mitts in the stores. The mitts that I own and have pictured are Pampered Chef’s “Microwave Grip Set“. They have since been redesigned slightly and are now a grey colour.

Steamer Baskets – Steamer baskets are a great accessory that you will be reaching for again and again. The top item I use mine for are potatoes but it will easily hold any vegetable you like. I would actually recommend the Pampered Chef steamer baskets over the Instant Pot ones. The last time I checked prices, the Pampered Chef baskets were a dollar or two cheaper and you actually get a set, as pictured (a small one nests inside a larger one). Instant Pot sells just the large size one. Please note that if you use an Instant Pot and it’s still in it’s warranty period, you will void the warranty if you use another manufacturers accessories.
